Scripting 101

Scripting is a command-based language in Rent Manager that lets you customize the output of letters, reports, recurring charges, and more. With just a little scripting knowledge, you can save yourself tons of time and improve the overall efficiency of your business. In this beginner-level class, you’ll learn the basic rules of scripting and gain confidence in writing and customizing scripted content in Rent Manager. No previous scripting knowledge is needed to participate in this session!

Scripting 201

This class picks up where the Scripting 101 session left off. Now that you have the basics under your belt, we’ll explore more intermediate-to-advanced scripting tactics. You’ll learn how to declare, store, and output variable values. You’ll also gain exposure to several advanced functions (like “IF” and “WHILE) that can provide more sophistication to your scripting output. We’ll even explore other places beyond letters and reports where scripting can significantly improve your Rent Manager experience!

Learning Objectives:
  • Utilize variables to simplify and customize scripts.
  • Introduce decision-making into your scripts with the “If” function.
  • Cycle through data for more sophisticated output using the “While” function.
