Rent Manager 101

This 4-hour introductory class will cover everything you need to know to get Rent Manager up and running smoothly. Bring your laptop along because at the conclusion of each topic, members of our team will come around and help you implement what you just learned into your actual Rent Manager database.

This pre-conference seminar will cover the following topics:

  • Assigning privileges to Rent Manager users
  • Establishing your GL settings, system accounts, and other important system preferences
  • Entering your beginning balances
  • Setting up your properties, unit types, units, customers, and vendors
  • Receiving and refunding security deposits
  • Handling basic Accounts Payable & Receivable activities

Networking Event
On Tuesday night, we invite all conference participants to attend our casual mixer event from 7-8:30 PM. This gathering will be an excellent opportunity for you to meet our staff as well as other property managers from around the country. We'll be hosting three mixer events simultaneously: one for Rent Manager users who manage their own properties, one for fee-based management companies, and a third event will be hosted by SuperNet—our highly preferred IT consultant partner—that's open to anyone interested in learning more about some of the latest IT services and concepts that are changing the way businesses like yours operate. Making Service Manager work for you

Service Manager is a comprehensive module within Rent Manager that allows for easy and streamlined management of property-related maintenance issues. This class will show you how to integrate Service Manager into your day-to-day operations. You'll learn how to create and assign service tickets, develop issue templates and projects, link service issues to other properties, customers, and/or units, and even generate bills and invoices from these service tickets.

Automating your business correspondence

If you're not already using letter templates to create personalized letters for your tenants, owners, or properties, then this seminar is a "must-attend!" We'll show you how to create letter templates that can pull actual database information from Rent Manager so that each letter is specific to the person receiving it. This seminar will also go over how to email letters, merge them with HTML, and even attach them to the history notes of a given entity. This hour and a half class could save you hundreds of hours in work time!

Using Bird's Eye View to "stay on top" of your properties

Rent Manager's Bird's Eye View feature provides the unique opportunity to create an aerial-view pictorial map of your properties and associated units. With Bird's Eye View, your business can incorporate a critical (and currently missing) dimension to your present reporting strategies—spacial analysis. This class will show you how to create and edit property maps, develop overlays and legends, control user permissions and other map settings, and we'll even show you a few little-known secrets regarding Bird's Eye View.

CAM basics

We'll teach you how to "memorize" certain reports so that you don't have to keep entering the same report options over and over again. This class will also cover how to produce a batch of predetermined reports with a click of a button, as well as a few techniques to efficiently generate reports by using property and owner groups, etc.

Explore new features designed specifically for commercial property management. In particular, learn to use advanced Common Area Maintenance (CAM) tools to customize how expenses incurred to operate your commercial rental property are divided and charged to the tenants, reconciled, and reported. Learn to use the other options available to calculate CAM charges besides simply using a customer's percentage of square footage of a property.
